Old-fashioned manners still open modern doors
A short, practical guide to the habits that make people want to work with you, hire you, and keep you: being on time, how to introduce yourself, what to put in an email, and how to handle an interview or a meal with an employer.
Go home the way you arrived
The safety basics for office and general industry jobs in plain language: your rights, six habits that prevent most injuries, and the questions to ask on your first day. It is a foundation, not job training.
Apply with Peak
Before Day One comes from Peak Employment Solutions, a staffing and talent firm at 308 Eighth Street in Augusta, Georgia. When you are ready, you can see open jobs or fill out Peak's pre-application. You do not have to finish Before Day One to apply. Questions? Call 706-228-PEAK (7325).
When you finish the program you can choose to send your certificate to Peak's team. That is optional, and it is not a job application.
Before you start
Does it cost anything?
No. Before Day One is free.
Is it a test?
No. There is no pass or fail and no score. The "Your turn" questions are for you to think about. Nobody grades them or sees them.
Do I need an account?
You can read every lesson without signing in. To tick off lessons and get your certificate, you sign in with your email. There is no password. We email you a short code each time.
Does it guarantee me a job?
No program can promise that. Before Day One helps you show up ready, and a certificate shows an employer that you took the time to prepare.
Who sees my information?
Only what you give to sign in and get your certificate: your email and your name. Nothing goes to Peak unless you choose to send your certificate. Read the privacy policy for the details, and you can delete your information at any time.
